BREMERTON, Aug. 4—Hunk Anderson was not only robbed of a no-hitter, Sunday, he ended up on the losing end of a 1-0 afternoon contest, the first of two against the Bremerton Bluejackets.
Anderson didn't allow a hit until one out in the ninth, when Hooks DeVaurs doubled, and Gus Paglia followed with a single to score him.
Hub Kittle stopped Vancouver on four hits, singles by Al Ketchmar, Charlie Mead, Bill Brenner and Anderson. He walked only one and struck out four.
Vancouver took the night game 4-1 as the Caps bested ex-teammate John Marshall in the fourth, as Reg Clarkson singled in a pair of runs. Mead had three of Vancouver's seven hits. Pete Jonas got his second win in as many starts.
Bill Reese's home run accounted for the only Bremerton run.

One Killed, Four Yakima Stars Injured in Wreck
YAKIMA, Aug. 4—Haskell L. Underwood, 21-year-old former merchant seaman of Naches Heights, Wash., was killed and four members of the Yakima Stars baseball team of the Western International League rowly escaped injuries early Sunday in an automobile collision at a suburban intersection.
John Underwood, a brother of the youthful victim, is in serious condition in a local hospital. The ball players identified by police officers as Max Strait, Cowiche, Wash., a pitcher; Keith Simon, a pitcher and Gene Thompson and Bill Elliot, outfielders. They escaped with minor cuts and bruises.
Officers said drivers of the cars were James E. Caton of Yakima and Strait who was taking the other ball players home after a double header Saturday night which ended shortly before midnight.
