YAKIMA, July 21—Bob Snyder rationed the Yakima Stars to six hits in the opener of a double-header Sunday, giving Vancouver a 5-2 victory. The Caps lost the second game 8-7.
Snyder picked up his fifth win a row and Reg Clarkson tripled in a pair of runs.
Alex Palica had a three-game winning streak snapped in taking the loss. Yakima manager Harlond Clift doubled in a pair and Gibb's single brought in two Stars. Thompson added an RBI triple.
Eddie Carnett, Vancouver manager, tripled in two runs, and Al Kretchmar had four singles.
