YAKIMA — The Yakima Stars took both ends of a wild free-scoring doubleheader from Victoria Sunday 31 to 2 and 15 to 2.
The Stars banged out 23 hits including three home runs, two triples and four doubles in winning the freakish opener. Gene Thompson, Harlond Clift and Bill McCloskey slammed home runs as Yakima runners swarmed across the plate.
The Stars kept up their vicious attack in the nightcap on the hapless A's. Bill Garbe, Bill Elliot, Bob Moore and Thompson connected for the circuit as Yakima swept the series. The Stars amassed 86 runs in five games against the Athletics.

BREMERTON — Wenatchee and Bremerton divided a double bill here, both clubs hitting heavily as Bremerton took the opener, 5-4, and Wenatchee won the seven-inning nightcap by the same score.

TACOMA — Vancouver and Tacoma split a doubleheader, Vancouver taking the nine-inning opener, 7-6, and Tacoma the seven inning nightcap, 1-0.
Vancouver took the opener on the strength of a four-run rally in the sixth. It was accomplished on two Tacoma errors, two walks and triples by Sid Van Sinderen and Ray Spurgeon.
